Trolls and Twilight

On February 27, 2009, in bag, yarn, by Anna

Let me introduce my new knitting bag.
It is a flippflapp bag made by the amazing Mina at Minmina’s.

Mina and I traded. I designed and knit the Ironwrought Scarf for her, and she created the flippflapp bag and made me one.

The bag is big enough to fit my charts and patterns, a knitting project (or even two depending on what I’m working on), my sewing case, a pencil for marking up the charts as I go, and it has a special pocket for the iPod (on which I often listen to audio books while I knit). There are no zippers or velcro, so the yarn does not get caught on anything – but the flap-lid enables me to close the bag so that I don’t knock it over and spill the contents.

And the best part is that every time I open the bag, there are trolls peeking out at me. The trolls make me smile.

Thanks Mina! The bag is wonderful – I love it!

I also received a second package in the mail this week. This yarn came from the Tri’Coterie, and is from the Twilight Series. The two blue skeins are laceweight Alpaca Cashsilk in the Bella Swan colourway. Each skein is 100 g and 1,200 m of amazingly soft lace yarn.

The centre skein is a fingering weight merino/tencel, and the colourway is Edward’s Hair.

I’ve already cast on for a shawl in the Bella Swan yarn, and it keeps the trolls company in my knitting bag.
